The school is currently collecting old batteries. Batteries make up a small portion of the garbage that goes to local landfills, however they are responsible for a large portion of the heavy metals found in our soil. The school is attempting redirect those old batteries away from local landfills.

"Look! We have collected so many batteries. It's only been 2 or 3 weeks since we started. Wow! That's amazing. And remember to keep bringing in more batteries."
