During math today the students played some online math games that allowed them to practice their rounding skills. The links for the math games have been added to your child's Google Drive.
Students can access their Google Drives at home. Here are the steps:
1. Open you internet browser (e.g. Google Chrome, Internet Explorer)
2. Go to https://www.google.ca
3. In the top right hand corner of the screen you should see a "sign in" tab.
4. The students have a personal sign in code. (They should know their code or have it written on a piece of paper. It will be the first 4 letters of their name and then 4 numbers. After they type out their code you must add "@scdsb.on.ca" before you hit the enter key.)
Example username: brod8459@scdsb.on.ca
To access the games while in Google Drive:
1. Click on the "waffle" icon in the top right hand corner.
2. One of the icons that shows up will look like a triangle. It is called Google Drive.
3. On the left side of the screen you should now see a tab that says: "Shared with me"
4. There will now be a document called "Pirate Rounding Game"
The links for the math games are in this document.
The steps may feel overwhelming but your child has done most of the steps at school already. The step that might be new to them is adding the @scdsb.on.ca on to their username.
I am available most days after school. If you have any difficulty accessing Google Drive feel free to stop by and I can show you how to access it.
Please feel to e-mail me if you have any questions.
